Steve Biegner, mission pastor
Born: June 3, 1971
Hometown: Greater Buffalo Area, NY
Family: A sweet babe of a wife Michelle and two awesome kids, Drew and Lauren. And then of course parents, couple sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc…oh and don’t forget Aunt Lillie in Brooklyn!
Education: Survived Amherst High School, Amherst NY
Partied and played volleyball at Ithaca College, Ithaca NY
Got my act together at University of Buffalo, Buffalo NY
Snuck into Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, SC
which they eventually kicked me out post-degree.
Ministry Experience:
(summers of 1987-1993ish)
- Lutheran Youth Organization Director in Western NY
(1992-93ish)
- Taken out of ministry to go to seminary 1993-1997
- Mission Developer at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in the
mountains of South Glens Falls NY (1997-2002)
Clarence Center, NY (2002-until they fire me)
Call Story: After realizing that pastors only worked ½ a day per week and ½ of that was sittin’ down…I heard my calling! So I packed up life into the Honda CRX and Michelle and I headed to the deep South to experience grits, overcooked vegetables and all your food being fried or pre-chewed.
Ministry Style: Generally, I like to threaten hell an damnation first so that people change their ways and think I’ve got the keys to salvation.
Gifts for Ministry: On my gift list this year: PS3, a new bike and season tickets for either Buffalo Sabres or Buffalo Bills…those would be great gifts that would help my ministry. Thanks for asking!
Hobbies: Drinking well crafted beers, golf, football, hockey, (and combining #1 with #2, #3 AND #4), hiking, water skiing, ice fishing, egging houses and long quiet walks on the beach.
